Come out and enjoy the night sky with the OC Astronomers club.  Walk among the members with their telescopes pointed at any one of the wonders of the night sky.  Be it the rings around Saturn or the gas cloud of the Orion Nebula or our nearest galaxy, the Andromeda galaxy.  The variety will change depending on the time of the year.  Take advantage of their knowledge.  Ask questions about their equipment or the object that they have it pointed at.

But before the sky darkens, take a walk with an IRC docent looking for nighttime critters.  The worlds only flying mammal roosts just around the corner.  We will have equipment to detect them and identify the specific species.  We will use a UV flashlight to detect another nocturnal carnivore, the scorpion.  Their exoskeleton contains fluorescent chemicals and glows under ultraviolet light.  And if you listen closely, you can hear one of our nocturnal owls, the western screech owl, the barn owl or the great horned owl.  Then a quick astronomy talk to get you ready for the dazzling night sky presented by the OC Astronomers.

As with any nighttime activity with telescopes, only flashlights with red light will be allowed.  White light adversely affects your nighttime visibility.
