Explore beautiful Limestone Canyon on this challenging 12-mile distance hike to the Water Tank beyond the East Sinks viewing area. This is an ideal hike for those that would like to experience the view from the water tank but would like to hike at a pace slower than normally offered for this hike.
This activity rewards hikers with panoramic unobstructed views of The Sinks, an ancient and dramatic formation of exposed sandstone cliffs. In addition to providing sweeping views, the trail passes through coastal sage scrub, grasslands, and some of the premier oak woodlands in Orange County.
We will travel at a pace varying from 2 to 2.5 mph on the climb to the Water Tank taking plenty of stops on the steep sections. The hike is long and has significant gain so hikers should have recent experience with hikes of this difficulty. If you can handle the distance, then we would love to have you. This is an opportunity to experience this wonderful viewpoint for those that prefer a bit more time. Please note, advanced registration required, no walk-up registration is permitted.
