Join us for a challenging and strenuous hiking adventure that encompasses Fremont Canyon and Weir Canyon. Fremont Canyon is the most rugged and remote area of the Irvine Ranch Natural Landmark and contains a wide range of native plants and wildlife. Weir Canyon has an intimate feeling of remoteness and seclusion with its rugged canyon walls and thick Coastal Live Oak canopy.
This is a 14-mile hike with a 1900-foot elevation gain. We will travel at an average moving pace of 3 miles per hour. We will enter Fremont Canyon and hike to Upper Blind Canyon with a brief stop under the toll road. From here we will continue to the Overlook trail and then descend into Weir Canyon.
